Synopsis

The view of formal education was that it aimed to pass existing levels in order to aspire to a relatively successful life in society. Today, none of this is sufficient, and educational institutions are called to have commitments that transcend the educational setting. In fact, there is talk of education for life, an education that ensures the exercise of responsible and critical citizenship, for which the disciplines that provide knowledge, no matter how updated they are, are not enough. For the forging of the necessary competencies and skills, to achieve the goals required, practical learning is needed that provides students with essential tools to reach the learnings of 'knowing how to do', and in that context, the classroom assembly emerges as an ideal methodology for this personal and social growth that is aspired to, as it allows students to learn to work cooperatively to dissent among themselves, to respect other opinions, to be supportive, to improve their emotional control, to resolve conflicts, to empathize and to develop their self-esteem, becoming increasingly autonomous in their behaviors, among many learnings that are achieved in this type of exercise.
